A letter from the United TaeKwon Do CEO Grand Master Choi

UTA has a very long and proud history.  Grand Master Dan K. Choi and I were among the first Korean Masters to open and operate Tae Kwon Do school in the greater Bay Area.  We opened Santa Clara Valley’s first Tae Kwon Do studio in down town San Jose, next to San Jose State University in 1971. Since then we have produced many prominent black belts, among them are Ernie Reyes, Tony Thompson and Ed Fong, who went on to found West Coast Karate Franchises. We also have many Black belts who are operating their own studios and have interesting careers in Martial Arts, including those involved in the movie industries.

I founded the United Tae Kwon Do Association in 1998.  The purpose of the association is to unite and provide technical support to all the member studios to ensure quality instruction and maintain traditional value of Tae Kwon Do.  Currently, UTA boasts over 1000 World Tae Kwon Do Federation accredited black belts, 8 International Referees and countless US certified Referees.  We host Silicon Valley Open Championships, which is one of the largest tournaments of its kind in Northern California.

If you are interested in becoming a part of organization with proven track record and proud history, I would like to personally invite to you join the UTA organization.  Together we can help you grow and be successful in you endeavor.

Sincerely,

Grand Master Hyun K. Choi
